Christina Moon
Christina Moon's research background has mainly involved investigations into the evolution and molecular ecology of plant-associated microbes.
She gained her PhD in molecular genetics examining the genetic diversity and evolution of fungal endophytes of grasses with Prof. Barry Scott at Massey University.
She continued her research interests in the endophyte field, completing a postdoctoral position with Prof. Chris Schardl at the University of Kentucky.
She then went on to join Prof. Paul Rainey's laboratory at the University of Oxford as a postdoctorate investigating the adaptation of a plant-growth promoting rhizobacterium to the plant environment.
Christina joined the Microbial Genomics team at AgResearch in 2005 as a research scientist, where she has been primarily involved in the functional genomics of Butyrivibrio proteoclasticus B316T, a fibrolytic rumen bacterium; and more recently, in metagenomic analyses of the rumen microbial community.
